Born in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. In 1980, he won the runner-up prize in the 20th TEZUKA Award hosted by Shueisha for his work "Busou Poker." His series "JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE," which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1986, has gained immense popularity among readers. He is currently serializing "The JOJOLands," the ninth part of the series, in Ultra Jump since February 2023.
