1928-1989. Born in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture. Graduated from Osaka Imperial University Attached Medical Department, obtained doctor's license, then Doctor of Medicine. A Manga artist and an Animator representing Japan. Debuted in 1946 at the age of 18 with "Diary of Ma-chan" . Became a popular manga artist and drew over 700 titles of manga works in his life. By producing the first domestically produced TV animated manga in serial form "Astro Boy" in Japan in 1963, it had a profound effect and a major impact on the Japanese manga world and the anime world. Even after his death, he has won many awards, including The Will Eisner Comic Industry Award, one of America's most prestigious manga awards. Representative works include "Jungle Emperor Leo", "Astro Boy", "Princess Knight", "Black Jack", " Phoenix" and "The Stories of Three Adolfs". It still continues to be read by people all over the world.
