TOP Public Art Public Art Showcase COLORS OVER SCRAMBLE
Digital Art "COLORS OVER SCRAMBLE"/ Original Painter and Supervisor: Katsuhiro Otomo / Shibuya Scramble Square Urban Core Signage / Installed 1st April 2021
Katsuhiro OtomoCartoonist, Movie directorI wanted to give a touch of color to the place with digital art suitable for a new building. The first thing I was conscious of was naturalness, nature. I used the sound of birds chirping to express a natural feeling. I hope that people who visit Shibuya Scramble Square and see the digital art will feel the charm of the fusion of natural and pop.
The work uses the changes in the Shibuya River, which has enriched the area, and the changing seasons as a motif, and utilizes computer graphics to express the changes from inorganic to organic and colors in a one-minute video. With the sound of birds chirping and the sound of gentle music, the images of "birth" and "change" are depicted one after another: rocks settling in the water, water full of moisture, citrus fruits floating on the surface, green trees growing thickly, white flowers in full bloom.
