Commentary
Takehiko Miyanaga, a representative western-style painter of the Showa Era, was active not only in oil painting but also as a graphic designer.
This mural was constructed as a compilation of images from numerous tourism posters which Myanaga created for the Okakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd, according to their management pholosophy of "irreplaceable times" and "rich and compfrtable lifestyles."
The Odakyu Group's mission has been not only to transport people through their daily lives but also to connect them with the most famous sightseeing destinations across the country.
This ceramic relief was constructed in commemoration of over 30 years of completion of multiple double tracks projects promoted by the Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd.
