Reiji HiramatsuJapanese-style PainterI produced a monument with the theme of pride of the university and the local people, commemorating the completion of the new Nagoya Campus, Aichi University.
The triangular steeple represents A, the initial of Aichi University.
One side of the trihedron was entitled "Country of Love" and I drew the shining sun and Mt. Fuji, a symbol of Japan, and the terrain and sea of Nagoya, Aichi.
One side was entitled "Mountains and Rivers of Love", and I drew the benefits of water that is the water system of Kiso, Nagara and Ibi going through the Nobi Plain from the Central Alps to the sea.
One side was entitled "People of Love", and I drew a group of the young people who gather here flying toward the unlimited future and pigeons that symbolize peace.
Every aspects express hometowns that love knowledge.
It also expresses the attitude to unite the university, the alumni association and the supporters' association, which was announced as a policy of Aichi University the other day.
Regarding the production material, modern stainless steel was used as the support body, and the porcelain model, which is a characteristic of hometowns, was incorporated. Collaboration between modernity and traditionality was carried out.
The monument made with stainless steel and ceramic is surrounded with a pond, and water lilies, which are related to Claude Monet, are planted in the pond.
