Paean for forests, the sea and human beings
Stained Glass "Paean for forest, the sea and human beings" / Original Designer and Supervisor : Takenobu Igarashi / Hall, Ota-City General Gymnasium / Installed on June 30, 2012 See Original Painting
The figures of creatures in forests and the sea in our memories and the viewers reflected on the 1,600 convex mirrors installed at equal intervals make us feel we all are the same lives on the earth.
The figure of "creature" was produced to take full advantage of the charm of ceramic which is an ancient Japanese material. Free formulation and profound glaze (colors to put on the pot) create a gentle atmosphere. The ceramic relief with about 80 kinds of glaze, including traditional glaze as the basis, has a unique expression and will not fade permanently.
We hope that the work will be familiar to the citizens forever in Ota City, which is developing as "Ota, an international city" by internationalization of Haneda Airport.
