Toast
Monument "Toast" / Artist : MIYATA Ryohei / Center of station square (west), Kitasenju Station / Installed at February, 2004
As a symbol of a meeting place at Kitasenju station, it has been modeled as a "toast" glass. In this work there are 15 large and small dolphins like a family. Since the number 15 has a meaning of "When it is full (15th night etc.)" in China, it is a very auspicious number, such as encountering, nurturing love, etc. There are the artist's expectations that it will be a wonderful encountering place for many people including young people, and will leap and fly as a place of cultural dissemination.
