Paean for Odawara
Ceramic Relief "Paean for Odawara" / Original Painter and Supervisor : Tsurutaro Kataoka / Center of Arc Road (East-West free passage), Odawara Station / Installed on December, 2003
It was installed in commemoration of the renewal opening of Odawara station building in the autumn of 2003. To make it suitable for Odawara where people's warmth can be felt as a lodging town in Tokaido, we asked him to create it with the theme of the sea and nature in Odawara. It is a paean for Odawara, since there are a scorpionfish, a parrot fish, a searobin, a horse mackerel, a sardine, a squid, a lobster and a flounder, which are in the sea, and cherry blossoms, plum blossoms and mandarin oranges, which are related with Odawara, drawn on it.
