KITAHARA RyutaroPainterLet’s meet in front of the mural poem by KITAHARA Ryutaro
It is a place of hellos and goodbyes
of happiness and sadness
It is the fashionable square where people gather
It is the square where you feel the joy of living
Let’s talk about your and my happiness
Let’s meet in front of the “Hachiko Family”mural
(This poem was written to celebrate the completion of the mural.)
“If Hachiko had a family?” is the theme of this production.
Hachiko’s life cast a shadow of loneliness but in fact he had his son called Kumako. Based on that, the painter wished to create a scene that depicted Hachiko’s happiness with his big family.
In a universe with a sun, moon and twinkling stars, Hachiko is in the center. There are 20 Akita-inu playing together, it shows that the Hachiko family is expanding.
This wall painting offers striking surface unevenness formed with more than 1200 ceramic relief pieces.
