He was born in Iida City, Nagano prefecture in 1932. After graduating from Iida Highschool, he continued his studies at Kansai University. There he majored in philosophy and aesthetics. Later he studied and taught at an art institute in Shinbashi, Osaka City. Following this, he became an independent artist. After studying in France, in 1970, as an invited artist, one of his paintings was chosen to be in a modern western painting exhibition called, “Selected 66 Popular Artists”. In 1972, he received a prize for “Fusha-Windmill (Greece)” from Le Salon in France and his work was then exempt from examination. He continued producing work in Japan and abroad and received many prizes. He passed away in 2013.
