Painter

He is a representative western-style painter in Japan as well as the leading authority of contemporary fresco painting. Brilliant colors rush, and enthusiasm and living delights develop dynamically in his painting world created from rich and free imaginations, extreme spiritual concentration and sustainability. His works consisting of bold and free-fashioned forms evoke deep empathy and interest in the viewers. Is working on three-dimensional works by styroform and mixed media, and also on stone carvings and paintings with natural mineral pigments on silk.
Member of the Japan Art Academy, Member of the Dokuritsu Exhibition, and Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University of the Arts.

Completed the mural painting course, graduate school of Tokyo University of the Arts

Studied in Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia, Italy
Won "La Martha Award", and his work was purchased by Venice modern art museum
1974
Won the 17th "Yasui Award", and his work was purchased by the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo
1977
Was selected as a foreign trainee for the artist in 1977 by Agency for Cultural Affairs, and went to USA and Italy
1978
Received "Manifest Award", and his work was purchased by Venice Biennale
1987
Won the 19th "Japan Art Grand Prize"
1989
Won the 30th "Mainichi Art Award"
1993
Professor at Tokyo University of the Arts

Produced Nagano Winter Olympic Games Official poster "Goddess of snow-capped mountains"
