Western-style Painter

Born in 1912. With a bright style, from the screens of his paintings, you can hear lively and freewheeling sounds. Received the Japan Art Academy Prize in 1966, and was appointed to a member of the Japan Art Academy in 1969. Supported Western-style Painting Division of the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition (Nitten) as Secretary General of the exhibition from 1974. Awarded as Person of Cultural Merit in 1990. Became Representative director at the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition (Nitten) in 1991. Passed away in 1993.
