Japanese-style Painter

He has completed an innovative painting style incorporating the European Impressionists' light and color with traditional Japanese-style techniques. A longing for beautiful things comes into his works. Received Chunichi Culture Award in 2004. As of 2016, Director of Japan Artists Association, Councilor of the Japan Association for the Promotion of Arts, Visiting Professor at Juntendo University.
