Western-style Painter

Born in 1898. Introduced surrealism for the first time in Japan. Formed Bijyutsu Bunka Art Association, and promoted the avant-garde art movement in the Showa period. Produced masterpieces "Defeated Group", "Collapse" and so on with his intense color and touch. Received the Order of Culture in 1991. Passed away in 1992.
