Public Art Production Group

Modern Mural Arts Institute was established in 1977. As a pioneer of public art production in Japan, in collaboration with artists who represent Japan, at the special ateliers built at Yugawara (address in Atami city, Shizuoka prefecture) and Shigaraki, it has produced many stained glasses and ceramics reliefs, and sent them to the world. Due to organization reorganization, it was renamed to CREARE Studio later on. The atelier at Yugawara was fully renovated by Mr. Kengo Kuma, an architect, in 2001. The first director is Louis Fransen, and the current is Ryushi Nakano. "CREARE" is a word that means "creation" in Latin.
