A day before the award ceremony, the award winners visited the CREARE Atami-Yugawara Studio to observe and enjoy hands-on session on the creation of public art using stained glass and ceramic relief. Award winners from abroad remarked that stained glass which was only used in old buildings like churches in Europe is used for modern art in Japan and ‘It is unique the way the Japanese use it.’ In the afternoon, they moved to the facility the Creare Art Museum for hands-on session. They created work using colorful glass and ceramic pieces on about A5-size plates. The pieces were used to decorate the award ceremony the next day.
