Western-style Painter

A master of Western-style painting society representing Japan, who still continues to produce vigorously at present.
He keeps fighting with self paintings without being caught by the time stream, and you can feel freedom without any restriction from the bold and fresh picture composition. There are a lot of great paintings such as "Persons on Rock", which received Yasui Prize. In addition to paintings, he wrote picture books and numerous essays also, and has a lot of fans in human-friendly literary activities. He is active in the field of culture and art, such as receiving Japan Essayist Club Prize with "Four hundred characters drawing" in 1978.
